Workshops

Aaron offers a workshop experience like no other where participants make their own brass padlock and cut their own key using original techniques and hand tools that have not changed since the early 1800’s.

Using parts made by Australia’s oldest operating lock manufacturer, Jacksons of Launceston, participants mark out their parts, hand drill and file them to make a working lock. Once the components are ready, the next step is to hand cut a key to suit, using skills that are slowly becoming lost in the Locksmithing trade with the ever increasing use of technology.

Workshops are held throughout the year at the inspiring Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades (Sovereign Hill, Ballarat).

Private workshops are available for team building or a unique event. Contact Aaron with your request.
